When making your reservation: Request for a quiet room. Ask for a room on an upper floor and away from the elevators. Avoid rooms facing a pool.
Packing for your stay: Bring your eye mask. They’re important especially if your room doesn’t have blackout curtains.
Getting ready for bed: Find ways to mask the sounds coming from outside of your room. Known as white noise, masking the sound involves using a non-intrusive artificial sound to your sleep environment so that you drown out the other noise. Download a white noise app and sleep like a baby.
Just before hitting the bed: Hang the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the outside doorknob. This is a must if you plan to sleep in.
While sleeping: If you are jolted from your sleep because of notoriously noisy neighbours, sometimes a knock on the wall will do the trick to quiet them down. Just don’t go breaking the wall.
